While he is fully integrated at Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton did not have a completely linear week of winter testing. It must be said that the seven-time world champion was not spared from bad luck, encroaching on his driving schedule when he does not necessarily have much time to prepare.

First there was the surprising appearance of rain on Thursday morning, a session in which the former Mercedes was lined up by the Scuderia. This limited his track time, not being able to do more than 45 laps in 4 hours. Recalled on Friday, Sir Lewis was counting on this final outing on track to fine-tune his final settings before setting sail for Australia where the first Grand Prix of the season will take place (March 14-16).

Unfortunately, Hamilton was forced to cut his session short. He returned to the pits just over 20 minutes from the checkered flag, and never left, prematurely ending his pre-season tests, stopping after 47 laps while Ferrari simply covered the garage entrance. Proof that a major project was carried out on the SF-25.

« At the end of the session, the team decided to bring Lewis back in and stop his running, as a precaution, after spotting an anomaly on the telemetry., " explained the Italian team, without revealing further details.

Far from ideal as Lewis Hamilton was the fourth driver with the fewest laps completed (162) over the three days of testing in Sakhir. Only Max Verstappen (155), Liam Lawson (149) and Lance stroll (133) have done less. What should worry him?

« Overall, it's been a great few days and we've made some great progress as a team., he summarized. We had to finish a little earlier than expected [Friday], and the weather has been difficult to predict all week, but that's how testing goes sometimes, and we've managed to gather a lot of interesting information that we can build on before the season starts. The whole team has done an incredible job and I'm really looking forward to the first race in Melbourne. I'm looking forward to racing with them. »
