Ferrari was the most profitable team in 2008

A report from Italian company StageUp shows that Scuderia Ferrari was the most profitable team during the 2008 season. The Reds spent less and earned more than the previous year.

Ferrari was the most profitable team in 2008

In 2008, the total budget of the stables F1 increased by 10% according to StageUp. And the expenditure/victory ratio shows the effectiveness of Ferrari.

The Italian team reportedly spent €328,2 million to win eight races and 172 points. In the second row, McLaren has six victories and 151 points for 342,7 million euros invested.

At the other end of the scale, Honda and Toyota were the least effective teams.

Still according to this report, a Grand Prix victory would have cost around 135 million euros in 2008, four times the annual budget set by the International Automobile Federation for the 2010 season.
