Ferrari invests in the future

" For the first time, Ferrari focuses on finding new talents,” explained Luca Baldisserri. “The program, which begins this year, brings together numerous activities, from training to piloting to allow young pilots to access the F1 with Ferrari. For the moment, we are targeting twelve drivers and a new selection will follow. »

These pilots will be of all ages: “We will start in karting then we will be present in other formulas like Abarth, F3, GP3 but also F2, GP2 and World Series.

Ferrari will rely on a few prestigious consultants to support its Drivers Academy: “Andrea Bertolini, Minardi will help us. I really believe in this project because pilot motivation is fundamental at the start of their career. Our drivers will not only learn to drive but also speak to sponsors, the press and express themselves in several languages. We will bring together the drivers five times in Fiorano, Mugello, Vallelunga, during an end-of-year event and during a final evaluation. »

Ferrari announces that this program is designed to last five to six years. Each driver will benefit from a one-year renewable contract.

And the names? Luca Baldisserri only dropped one? and we already knew him: the Frenchman Jules Bianchi who will be competing in the GP2 Series in 2010. “We also follow other drivers, and not just in Italy,” adds the Italian.
