Ferrari: The title will be difficult

Fernando Alonso reignited the spark of a possible feat by coming out in the lead at the first corner of the Spanish GP. But the pilot Ferrari fell into line by failing in 5th place, while his teammate Felipe Massa retired following a gearbox failure.

Stefano Domenicali, director of the Scuderia, maintains that the Maranello team is not giving up, but he concedes that the task will prove complicated as long as Red Bull will thus dominate the Championship. “ If Red Bull continues to progress, there is no doubt that (the title) will not be easy to achieve. They are very far ahead. We know it?s difficult, but we don?t give up. »

The director of the Italian team confirms that tire degradation is a factor in the poor performance of the F150° Italia. “ We lost around 2 seconds per lap, which is very difficult to explain. », adds Stefano Domenicali. “ The tires do not adapt well to our single-seaters which slide a lot, since they do not manage to heat up the rubber. »
