Ferrari opens its counter

Without being back at the front, Scuderia Ferrari can be satisfied today with having scored its first points of the season, thanks to Kimi Räikkönen's sixth place. Disappointment on the other hand for Felipa Massa, whose race was ruined following contact with his teammate.

Ferrari opens its counter

Stefano Domenicali, boss of the Team Ferrari welcomes with relief the first points of the season scored by its team. ?Our goal today was to get both of our cars into the points. Unfortunately, Felipe?s race was compromised when he hit his teammate during the chaos at the start, damaging his front wing in the process. »

“Kimi put in a good performance, putting the finishing touches on a positive weekend. We still have to work on reliability, because we had some problems again today. But above all, we must improve our performance. We really need to focus on developing the whole car, not just one important point like the diffusers. We can expect a fairly warm period with the start of the European season. This will be an important phase of this Championship. Not everything will be resolved in Barcelona yet. »

Happy to score his first points, Kimi Räikkönen still expects a clear performance gain from his car in the weeks to come. “I'm happy to bring home points, but I can't be satisfied with our level of performance. I've been racing long enough to not be satisfied with a 6th place. We know we must progress. In theory, the new package that we will receive in Barcelona will allow us to take a first step. But we don't yet know how close this will bring us to the others until we get on track in Barcelona. »
