Ferrari regains its rank

Frustrés de leur journée de tests du vendredi, les Toyota sont les premiers en piste. Glock signe le chrono de référence avant d?être relayé par Trulli. Alonso, very fast Friday afternoon, seizes the reference time and improves it twice (1:23:074). The traffic on the track is intensifying and the Ferrari roll up their sleeves. Raïkkonen sets the best time before being dispossessed by Massa, who rules everyone (1:22:387). In its wake, Buemi, Barrichello, Hag, Hamilton and Webber go below 1?23??. Bourdais gets closer (1?23??069) ahead of the Williams by Nakajima and Rosberg.

The second half hour gives way to more lively debates. Vettel sets a good time, before seeing Barrichello bring the reference time below 1:22?? (1?21??906). Immediately, the pack rushes into the breach. Raïkkonen, Hamilton, Massa and Button also go under 1?22?? but it was Glock who had the best time (1:21:419).

The German confirms his speed by immediately improving the mark (1:21:377). But that's without counting on the Ferraris. Felipe Massa stunned the paddock by improving Glock's time by more than eight tenths (1:20:553). Kimi Raïkkonen imitates him by approaching his teammate (1:20??635). The two Scuderia drivers are the only ones to go below the 1?21?? mark. and prove that the Ferrari F60B is ready to take up the challenge of this 2009 season. After a sluggish start during the first four Grand Prix, Luca di Montezemolo's team wants to regain its rank.
