FFSA: Deschaux met Jouanno

Chantal Jouanno, by being appointed Minister of Sports during the last government reshuffle, became the FFSA's preferred contact on French motorsport issues. Above all, as a former Secretary of State for Ecology, she had become known to motorsport fans because of her strong opposition to the circuit project (and the French Grand Prix of F1) in Flins (Yvelines).

A few days ago, Chantal Jouanno spoke about this issue again in the columns of the Team. “I had criticized the choice of creating a circuit on the largest water table in Ile-de-France,” she declared, before adding: “Today, we need to know whether the French Sports Federation Automobile is capable of supporting the cost of a Grand Prix.

A week after these declarations, the new Minister of Sports received Nicolas Deschaux, president of the FFSA and delighted to be able to establish a first contact. “This meeting took place in a particularly constructive atmosphere,” explains the President of the FFSA in a press release. “I was able to realize that Madam Minister had a very informed overall vision of the issues related to our sport.

Nicolas Deschaux, although he recounts his interview, does not discuss in detail the hot topic of the French GP, in the category of “major events”: “We were thus able to discuss together both the major events and the fundamental missions of the FFSA such as the training of hopes or support for our associative fabric. The Minister showed herself to be very attached to the development and evolution of French motorsport. »
