FIA: Jules Bianchi seriously injured in the head

The FIA ​​confirmed in the Suzuka paddock that Jules Bianchi's state of health was serious. Marussia driver hits tow truck intervening on the Sauber of Adrian Sutil in the curve preceding the Degner corner (n°8) during the last laps of the Japanese Grand Prix and suffered from a “ serious head injury”. The latest information from Japan indicates that the Frenchman is being operated on for a subdural hematoma.

After being evacuated by ambulance to Mie General Hospital, the Federation confirmed that the Marussia driver is currently undergoing surgery and will subsequently be placed in intensive care. The hospital will communicate on the evolution of the situation “when information becomes available”.

According to a spokesperson for the Team, Jules Bianchi's operation would have ended around 15 p.m. (Paris time), but the Frenchman's state of health remains unknown.
