FIA: The teams finally unanimous

The FIA wanted to backtrack when it saw all the complications that the limitation of blown exhausts created for engine manufacturers. The Federation proposed to return to the old regulations in force in Valencia if all the teams gave their agreement. Sauber and Ferrari refused this morning to give their approval, but Bernie Ecclestone indicated that all the teams were now on the verge of being unanimous.

Stefano Domenicali confirmed the information. “That?s what I understood too”, he replied following the news. “This thing was not good for anyone. We need to draw a line under this and move forward, what would happen otherwise? Even if I do not agree with the process, we must avoid it for the good of discipline. »

Peter Sauber did not wish to confirm the intentions of the Swiss team, but he nevertheless suggests that the team will also accept the FIA proposal. “If Bernie said that, it must be true”, indicated the president of Sauber. “All this is regrettable. The FIA made it known that this system was illegal, we changed it. Then there was a lot of debate about engines. Everyone thinks to themselves, this is normal. »
