End of season for Kimi Räikkönen!

If Lotus F1 Team had indicated that it had found common ground with Kimi Räikkönen after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the Finn will ultimately not compete in the last two races in Austin and Interlagos. The Turun Sanomat newspaper announced that the Lotus driver will have back surgery this Thursday, information confirmed by his manager Steve Robertson. The 2007 world champion had notably complained of pain in recent weeks.

Having still not received his salary, Kimi Räikkönen had threatened the Esntone team not to compete in the last Grands Prix of the season. The Finn is released from his obligations with the team and therefore preferred to heal to be ready to make his return with the Team Ferrari. His journey with the British team therefore ended with a retirement on the first lap in Abu Dhabi. It is now a question of knowing who will replace the Scandinavian while the Austin Grand Prix will be contested in a week. FErnesto Alonso also not sure for US GP.
