Fiorano: Massa “as before”

Felipe Massa, injured during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix on July 25, was no longer on board a Formula 1 since his accident. This Monday, the Brazilian was able to relive the sensations of lining up laps on the track in Fiorano, Italy (here in photos). These tests were intended to allow Massa to assess his suitability to drive again in Formula 1. When I got in the car, it's like nothing happened, I'm the same as before », commented Felipe Massa.

Ferrari suggested that the Brazilian would not race this season, preferring that Massa regains his level little by little while quietly preparing for his next season. But Felipe Massa, who has rediscovered the pleasure of the track, already feels ready to return to competition. “ Everything went well, I am in good physical shape. I have no problem with my eyesight and I am ready to do a race, and even two in a row! »

Despite everything, the Brazilian confided that he would be cautious about his return and that he would respect the advice of doctors. “ Obviously, I'm going to take my time, as a precaution. But after getting in the car, I can say that I am the same as I was before the accident. » The main goal of this session is therefore achieved: Ferrari can imagine that Massa will be competitive in 2010 and that he will not suffer from his Hungarian injuries. The Scuderia can therefore count on Fernando Alonso and Felipe Masse in 2010.
