Force India-Aérolab: Incident not closed

Civil proceedings are currently underway in Italy following the filing of a complaint by Force India for unlawful disclosure of confidential information. The Indian team accuses its former partner Aérolab of having disclosed information to Mike Gascoyne, used in the development of the Lotus T127. Some are echoing a formal indictment of Tony Fernandes and Mike Gascoyne. However, the Force India team refuses to make the slightest comment.

Recall of facts

The Force India team had an agreement with Aérolab in 2008 and 2009 for the development of aerodynamic components. Suspected of not respecting the confidentiality clause, Aérolab was ousted in August 2009, at the same time launching civil proceedings against the Indian team in Italy and the United Kingdom. Vijay Mallya's team was ordered to pay nearly 1 million euros in damages.

For its part, Force India has filed a complaint against X with the competent Italian authorities for the illegitimate disclosure of confidential information and intends to win its case. The Indian team claims that evidence was collected during searches. The case will be investigated from January 16, 2012 in the United Kingdom. Business to follow?
