Force India: Haas demands explanations

The Drivers' and Manufacturers' Championships may well be played before the last Grand Prix of the season contested this weekend in Abu Dhabi, but tensions remain palpable within the paddock among the mid-grid teams.

Thus, Haas F1 Team has filed a complaint with the FIA regarding the situation at Racing Point Force India. Acquired mid-season by a consortium led by Lawrence Stroll, Lance's father, Vijay Mallya's former structure would not be authorized to win the sums corresponding to the points scored since last September, the single-seaters having been created by the former entity.

Haas is not worried by Racing Point Force India since the American team is in 5th place in the Constructors' Championship, while the new team is only 7th, 42 points behind its rival. But the distribution of income acquired during the season would be strongly influenced depending on the rewards allocated or not to the new owners of the RPFI structure.

Günther Steiner, Team Principal of Haas F1 Team, will speak in the paddock of the Abu Dhabi GP tomorrow. The two teams will be summoned to the commissioners this Friday at 8 a.m. Paris time.
