Force India suffered a slump mid-season when Pirelli had to overhaul its tires before the summer break. But the Indian team was able to regain performance to keep the advantage over Sauber in sixth position in the Manufacturers' Championship before competing in the last Grand Prix of the season this Sunday in Brazil. However, the future of Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta is still far from being written since Vijay Mallya wants to take his time to select his crew for 2014. The boss of the Asian team will be patient especially as many suitors are looking for a steering wheel, Nico Hulkenberg at the top of the list.
“Everyone knows that I make my choice at the last minute… Well, not at the last minute. I make the decision after the Force India Christmas party so in December”, commented Vijay Mallya on ESPN F1. “I don’t see why I would change my methods. I have received offers from some pilots, but they all know that I will make my choice in December. I like to think that the place at Force India is desirable, that it is not a place by default. So I wasn't surprised that people came to me. »
If Adrian Sutil is confident about his contract extension with Force India, the same is not true for his teammate Paul di Resta who would be in the hot seat. The Scot even admitted that he would like to replace his cousin Dario Franchitti within Ganassi Racing in IndyCar.
