Force India presents its VJM10

After Williams, Sauber and Renault, Force India is the fourth team entered in the World Championship to reveal its car 2017. The VJM10, the tenth car in Force India's history, was presented this Wednesday at an event organized in the Silverstone lair, close to the factory of Vijay Mallya's team.

Esteban Ocon and Sergio Pérez, the two holders for the 2017 season, have unveiled a single-seater sporting a significantly evolved muzzle, with a very pronounced “nose”. The front and rear wings have significantly evolved, as a result of the new technical regulations. The ridged hood is also there. For its part, the livery remains close to that seen in 2016.

“This year the cars are completely new and nothing can be carried over from previous years, comments Otmar Szafnauer, Chief Operating Officer of Force India. Even though we have completely new aerodynamics on the VJM10, it's fair to say that our aero philosophy is very similar to 2015 and 2016.

"It's certainly a big change, continues technical director Andrew Green. And that required a change of mentality. It took a little time to get used to at first, but we're here now and I'm confident we know where to look and where performance can come from with this car.

The development curve is incredibly steep and we're going to see significant updates to the cars at regular intervals, right from the start. These will be significant developments and I don't think the development will diminish quickly. »
