Force India would be happy with a top ten finish

Force India is renowned for having an upward performance curve during the season, with the Indian team often starting slowly before experiencing a second wind after the summer break. No one yet knows whether the VJM09 will comply with the rule, but the team has cautious objectives for the Australian Grand Prix, the first event of the 2016 season contested on March 20 at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne.

“I don’t think there will be any big surprises in Melbourne”, admitted Vijay Mallya, the director of Force India. “The status quo of the second half of last year's season seems to have been maintained, although this may vary from one circuit to another. Melbourne has always offered surprises, but I would like us to bring home a few points. We want to qualify and ride in the top ten. »

Sergio Pérez also remains evasive about his chances of a good result. “We were satisfied with the tests carried out in Barcelona and that is the most important thing. The car was reliable there and it’s a nice improvement compared to last year. I think the points will be accessible in Melbourne”, added the Mexican.
