Frédéric Vasseur new Sauber Team Principal

After the departure of Monisha Kaltenborn announced three weeks ago, Sauber F1 Team spent the Azerbaijan and Austrian Grand Prix without a Team Principal. Today, a few days before the British Grand Prix, the Swiss team confirmed the arrival of Frederic Vasseur as the new Team Principal.

« Frédéric Vasseur's long and successful career at the highest level of motorsport speaks for itself, and we are delighted to welcome him to Sauber, explains Pascal Picci, President of Sauber Motorsport AG. »

Frédéric Vasseur was first the Team Principal and founder of the ASM team in Formula 3. In 2004, he joined forces with Nicolas Todt to found ART Grand Prix which led Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton or even Esteban Ocon to success in single-seaters up to F1.

Following the acquisition of Lotus by Renault in 2016, he became Team Principal of the French team in Formula 1 before leaving the manufacturer at the start of 2017.

« I am very proud to join Sauber Motorsport AG, explains the French, and I would like to thank the company's shareholders for their trust.

“I was impressed by the facilities at Hinwil and by the talent and ambition of the team and I look forward to bringing to the team my experience and my determination to lead everyone in the right direction: I am convinced that together we can achieve goals ambitious. »
