The storm is rumbling Maranello, where Ferrari is going through another season far from the fight for the title. After coming close to the Constructors' crown at the end of 2024, the Scuderia is groping again and already finds itself distanced by McLaren. For the Italian team, 2025 was supposed to be a pivotal year with the long-awaited arrival of Lewis Hamilton, presented as the transfer of the century.
Six months after the Briton's first laps at Fiorano, watched by jubilant fans, the picture is far less flattering. Ferrari is clearly falling short of expectations, and discontent is rightfully rising within the ranks of Maranello. Frédéric Vasseur, as phlegmatic as he may be, is struggling to mask the flaws of a team whose ambitions don't tolerate approximations.
From there to think that the former director ofAlfa Romeo-Sauber is in danger? This is what several Italian media outlets, including La Gazzetta dello Sport and Il Corriere della Sera, have reported. According to them, Frédéric Vasseur is risking his future over the next three races and could be sidelined if results do not improve quickly.

Hamilton supports Vasseur
Antonello Coletta, current head of the program WEC Ferrari, is reportedly tipped to succeed him. But the Scuderia has been keen to calm the rumors, which the team described as "fantasies" when contacted by Motorsport Week. For several weeks, Vasseur's position has fueled speculation, to the point that some have mentioned a possible departure of Christian Horner from Red Bull to join Ferrari.
In this tense climate, Lewis Hamilton defended his manager at a press conference. "I've heard about the controversy and criticism he's been getting. I'm not really happy about it, breathes the seven-time world champion. I love working with Fred. He's the main reason I'm at Ferrari today."
"I'm grateful for the opportunity he gave me. We're both in the same boat. I know things aren't perfect right now, but he's the one who can take us to the top. People who write this don't know what goes on behind the scenes at Ferrari."
To secure his future and silence the rumors, Frédéric Vasseur would do well to get things back on track at the Canadian Grand Prix.

Mr. Juilhard, please allow me to be surprised when I read the last sentence of your article. I won't go so far as to say "to ensure your future," but I believe that Fred Vasseur knows what he must do. Sincerely,
Alain Féguenne (Luxembourg)

The biggest mistake Ferrari could make, see indeed the example of Jean Todt…….. On the other hand Lewis must withdraw, because if Ferrari can hire Max, the road to success will be open. Max and Charles, that would be a duo…… of hell …..!!!! We will see in the coming days, at the latest a few weeks….. 😎👀🍾👀🇱🇺

The Italian rumor mill has been set in motion once again, forgetting that it was John Elkann who did the belly dance and pulled out his enormous checkbook to seduce Hamilton rather than Vasseur who courted the Englishman. Italy fantasizes about an all-Italian management team at Ferrari, just as the peninsula dreams of an all-Italian management team at Stellantis following the hard-negotiated departure of Carlos Tavares at the end of 100.

It's Antonello Coletta and not Stefano, Mr. Juilhard.

Parting ways with Vasseur would be suicidal... At a time when machines were far less complex than they are today, it took Jean Todt a few years to turn the Scuderia around. But the Italian rags have to be able to sell. To say that it's moving the Schmilblick forward is not a sure thing...
