This is simply a first in the history of Formula 1. Two brothers, Arthur and Charles Leclerc, will team up during an official Grand Prix session, in this case the first of three free practice sessions for the final round of the season. Team Ferrari will thus complete what is required by the regulations, namely that each of the two regular drivers must give up his place at least once a year to a young driver who has not yet competed in more than two Grands Prix in Formula 1. Ferrari was the last team not to have announced a driver to fulfill this obligation this weekend.

As Charles Leclerc prepares to finish his sixth season as the team's regular driver, his brother Arthur is no stranger to the Prancing Horse brand, as he is serving as a simulator driver this year. Last November, he also drove the Ferrari 499P, a car entered by the Scuderia in the FIA World Championship.Endurance since 2023, and double winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

This season, Arthur Leclerc took part in theELMS with Panis Racing, finishing fourth in the championship with a win at Imola. This success, won on the track, had initially been taken away from the trio he formed with Charles Milesi and Manuel Maldonado, before the victory was finally re-awarded to the Oreca n°65. The younger of the Leclerc brothers also competed for a season in Formula 2, and two in Formula 3, following in his brother's footsteps, whom he will meet again at the top of the pyramid during a session this Friday. The two Monegasques have also been members of the Ferrari Driver Academy for many years.

The Rodriguez brothers both raced for Ferrari but in endurance, notably the 24 du Mans 1961 and 1962 in Testarossas but they did not win Le Mans together.

A way to thank Arthur for his work behind the scenes by allowing him to officiate in EL1 in place of the Smooth Operator who is preparing to leave the Scuderia! Not sure that it would be optimal for the conquest of the Constructors' title to remove driving time from Sainz. A first for a sibling group in F1? Not being a specialist in F1 from the sixties, it seems to me that the Rodriguez brothers both raced in F2, right! But perhaps not within the same team unlike the 1 Monegasques...
