After two blank results in Italy and Russia, Pierre Gasly found his smile again two weeks ago during the Turkish Grand Prix. Fifth in qualifying, the Habs then finished the race in 6th to score their first points since Zandvoort and the Dutch GP in early September.

« What we can take away from the last race in Turkey is that our pure performance was really good, remembers the Norman. In qualifying, we were fighting with Ferrari et Red Bull in the same tenth. I was very happy to qualify in the Top 5. The race could have been better without the penalty (5 seconds for hooking with Alonso. Editor’s note) but finish 10 seconds from the podium behind two Mercedes, two Red Bulls and a Ferrari is very positive. This confirms that we are back at the front of the peloton."

Turning towards Austin and the United States Grand Prix now, Pierre Gasly is tackling a race where he has never been able to really stand out since his arrival in F1 in 2018. " I haven't had any big races in Austin yet. My best result is a 10th place during our last visit (2019)

In terms of driving, the track is very exciting, very fast and I particularly like the first sector which somewhat resembles Suzuka (...) After seeing the MotoGP A few weeks ago, the bumps, which were already big last time, seem bigger now. This will require a compromise in terms of tuning the car but we don't know to what extent. We won't know until we get there. I'm not particularly worried because our car works well everywhere. We simply need to avoid the problems that might come our way in order to continue getting closer toAlpine in the championship »
