Gasly: “You shouldn’t look at the clock too much on my side”

Pierre Gasly (Red Bull) quietly began his Chinese Grand Prix on Friday in Shanghai. The Frenchman completed both free practice sessions in the second half of the top 10, but also remains confident about his racing abilities.

As always, Friday was reserved for evaluating the mechanical parts. “We tested a lot of things on the cars today, both Max's and mine. Lots of pieces to try on, it's not always very fun. But we have to go through it. We have a lot of data to decipher and work ahead of us, explains the Norman.

We'll have to analyze everything we've tried and put in the best. » The times are not revealing according to him. “I think we shouldn’t look at the clock too much on my side (7th in EL1, 10th in EL2), and more on the side of Max. The parts on his car seem to work better than the ones I useds, reveals Pierre Gasly.

I made a small mistake coming out of turn 13 and lost a little time but nothing serious. I will focus on what I can improve and aim for my first Q3 with Red Bull. You always want more but the car was quite competitive today. »
