Gasly: “I know that at the end, I will come out stronger”

After nine events in the 2019 season of Formula 1, Pierre Gasly (Red Bull) is in sixth place in the general classification with 43 points, while his teammate Max Verstappen counts 126 units (3rd). The Frenchman has been struggling with his mount since the start of the campaign, but the 2 GP2016 Series champion assures him; it will get better soon.

“I’m full of energy and motivated for this weekend.”, he promises, under the very attentive gaze of his press officer. And Pierre Gasly cuts short rumors of pressure applied by the team's board of directors. “What I trust is what is said when Christian (Horner) and I are together in the factory. We must each improve ourselves (the team and him. Editor’s note). This is why I am quite confident that we will see changes and improvements soon. There's not much else to say, all I have to do is go out on the track and give it my all. »

Indeed, when a journalist tries to find out more about the nature of these “changes”, the person concerned hits the dirt. « I don't think this should come out in the media. JHe talks with Christian (Horner) and the engineers to make sure things go well internally. There are lots of little things that make it more difficult.

Not everything will be solved with the wave of a magic wand, recognizes the Norman. But quietly, several things should be resolved very soon. This should improve our performancee and we are heading in the right direction. It makes me happy, but I don't want to move forward prematurely. »

Before the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Pierre Gasly does not hide his face, but something bad is good. “It’s hard but on the other hand, it's part of the job. You have to manage difficult times. I'm in a position I've always dreamed of being in.

You face more challenges but that’s part of a career. You have to manage these moments. The elements are not going my way. However, I know that at the end, I will come out stronger as a pilot. » His supporters hope so.
