Gasly: ​​“The best Friday of the year”

In full doubt and under pressure for weeks due to disappointing performances at the wheel of his Honda-powered RB15, the driver Red Bull gets a nice breath of fresh air by dominating Free Practice 1 at Silverstone this Friday. 

He confirms by setting the 5th fastest time in EL2 in the afternoon, two places and three tenths ahead of his teammate. Max Verstappen, who gave him a trick during his victory in Austria two weeks ago. If Gasly tempered the scope of his times on the TV microphone at the start of the evening, he did not shy away from his pleasure. 

« The changes we’ve made since Spielberg seem to be paying off, reported the Frenchman when he got out of the car. I felt good from the first laps. We will try to continue like this. We looked together with the team at what we could improve and a lot of things changed. After all, it's only a Friday. We will have to confirm tomorrow because we can still progress in certain areas. 

I feel comfortable with the car. When the performance is there and I can drive as I want, obviously I am happy. Glad to see we are moving in the right direction. This is probably the best Friday of the season for us ». 

Slightly behind at the start of the British weekend, its neighbor in the garage gave a more mixed assessment.
