Gasly heavily penalized on the Baku grid

Pierre Gasly was heavily penalized by the stewards of the Azerbaijan GP in Baku. Summoned to the commissioners for not having respected the weigh-in at the end of the second free practice session which was held this afternoon, the driver Red Bull was sanctioned with a start from the pit lane.

The stewards clarified that the Frenchman had carried out pit stop training with changing all four wheels when he had been called to the weigh-in, not respecting article 29.1 a) of the regulations.

Pierre Gasly set the 9th fastest time of the session, 4 tenths behind his teammate Max Verstappen and 1''3 from the reference made by Charles Leclerc (Ferrari).
