Gasly: ​​“A positive weekend so far”

Pierre Gasly will have a great opportunity to score a good result at the British GP. In difficulty in this first part of the season with 83 points behind his teammate Max Verstappen recently won at Red Bull Ring (Austria), the Frenchman took 5th place on the Silverstone grid just behind the Dutchman while ahead of Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari).

“We worked well all weekend, explained Pierre Gasly. The team has made a number of changes that are moving in the right direction. I cannot describe them because the changes are too numerous and complex. I am satisfied because the testing work has paid off and the weekend has been positive so far. It will now be necessary to complete the work starting from 5th position. »

Red Bull will have a different strategy by having chosen to start on medium tires unlike the rest of the peloton on soft compounds.

“We deliberately chose to start on medium tires because the strategies will be complex with the possibility of making one or two stops”, commented the French pilot.

Pierre Gasly has only entered the Top 5 once this season, at the Monaco GP.
