Gene Haas: “A different approach”

Gene Haas seems certain that his team will succeed in its debut in F1, even if the fates of HRT and Caterham could dampen the American's expectations. The latter can rely on his fortune but also on the success of his structure in Nascar which represents one of the greatest strengths of the discipline.

“Our Nascar team has been running for around ten years and we have enjoyed success by winning two titles (in 2011 with Tony Stewart and in 2014 with Kevin Harvick). We understand racing and we will have a different approach than our predecessors”, recalled Gene Haas, the co-owner of Stewart-Haas Racing, during the launch of a new factory of his company in Portugal.

If Gene Haas is confident about his entry into F1, he also knows that he will have to be patient with the level of the peloton. “It’s important to win races. I won't say that we are going to fight with Mercedes et Ferrari, but we are well prepared”, he promised.

Haas F1 Team will make its debut in 2016. The American team has not yet revealed its drivers.
