Embarrassed by the yellow flag, Bottas was “still under his feet”

As since the start of the season, Valtteri Bottas is almost the only man capable of beating Lewis Hamilton, and even. His best times during the three practice sessions suggested that the Finn would be able to steal pole from his teammate. Nay!

In qualifying, Lewis Hamilton raised the level and showed that he was still that untouchable boss that no one can beat. A great disappointment for Valtteri Bottas hampered by the yellow flag caused by Esteban Ocon and only beaten by 59 thousandths.

« I was embarrassed (by the yellow flag at the end of Q3). I still had some under my feet. My first lap was okay but I was looking forward to chasing the time but I didn't get the chance. It’s disappointing because I was on the pace since the start of the weekend. »

Obviously disappointed by this second place after an excellent start to the weekend, the driver Mercedes Don't be discouraged though. He intends to take advantage of the few overtaking possibilities, particularly when braking for the first time.

« Before arriving, everyone said that it would be impossible to overtake but from free practice we could see that the track is wider in places. We can take different trajectories. I hope I have my chance at the first corner ».

And for this, he hopes that “ the headwind will always be there at the start ". Mother nature can you hear me?
