George Russell a good sport against his teammate: "Very happy for Kimi"

@DPPI

Despite his remarkable start to the season, Kimi Antonelli was the only driver to suffer a 0-6 in qualifying against his teammate. The Italian remedied this in the best possible way by taking pole position for the sprint race of the Miami Grand Prix, relegating George Russell to 0 seconds.

The Briton gave way to his young garage neighbor, who seemed more comfortable throughout Friday, first in free practice, then in qualifying, until he gave Russell the final blow in SQ3. The three-time Grand Prix winner seemed to be struggling with his Mercedes, especially in the slow sequence of turns 12 to 16, where he narrowly missed losing his car in EL1.

His few difficulties were reflected on the clock, where he was unable to join his teammate on the front row. Although a little disappointed with his performance, George Russell did not fail to praise that of Kimi Antonelli, who took his first pole position in Formula 1 at only 18 years old.

"Congratulations to Kimi! He did an incredible job, he was fast all day. It's very impressive." greet Russell on F1TV. “For my part, I struggled a bit today, I was off the pace. As I wasn't comfortable, we wanted to go out early in SQ3, because I wasn't confident and there could have been a yellow or red flag at the end of the session. Fifth is not good, there's a lot to improve, but it's an incredible result for Kimi and for the team.”

"Sprint weekends are a real challenge: if you feel comfortable quickly, you can build from there. I wasn't very comfortable in the car; I slid around a lot. For the sprint race, it's important not to get too far back, but I'm especially happy for Kimi.", continues the King's Lynn native, who will start from the third row alongside Charles Leclerc.

I've already commented on Russe's future! And what confirms my idea is that if Max were to come to Mercedes, he would be eliminated in favor of Andrea! But that wouldn't suit Max......
