Glock hungry

Timo Glock, sixth on the starting grid, certainly did not expect to finish in second position. But, taking advantage of Nico Rosberg's misfortunes (drive through), Sebastian Vettel (drive through) and Mark Webber (brake problems), the German driver was able to gain positions during the race and finish on second place, less than ten seconds behind the winner, Lewis Hamilton.

« It was important for me to pass in front of Fernando (Alonso) in the first lap, although I was disappointed not to do it from the start. » Glock was indeed able to take advantage of the duel between Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso to overtake the Spaniard after around ten seconds of racing. “ I saw that he was fighting with Mark and I dove to pass him. »

At this point in the race, Timo Glock was in fifth position, before taking advantage of the withdrawal or decline of three of his predecessors. “ It paid off because we also had a good strategy. I just had to concentrate on my race, and we didn?t make any mistakes. This is a brilliant result for Toyota before the Japanese Grand Prix. »

Now, Timo Glock hopes to repeat such a performance this weekend at Suzuka, in front of the Japanese team's supporters. “ I would love to be able to challenge for the podium at Toyota?s home race. I would like to offer this pleasure to the team. That would be a great result. Standing on the podium, for Toyota, in Japan, that would be perfect »
