Glock: “Register my first points”

In Valencia, Timo Glock (Toyota) saw his race ruined at the first turn due to a puncture. If he did not manage to score his first points during the European GP, he hopes to do so at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend.

Glock: “Register my first points”

Timo, how was your weekend in Valencia?

It was weird to be honest because we didn't perform as well as we would have liked. The car was good on Friday and, although the rankings don't reflect it, we were reasonably confident. Unfortunately on Saturday, we struggled to find the right rhythm during Free 3 and this continued during qualifying. So we qualified further than we expected. From that moment on, it became difficult to score points and that's what happened. In the end, it's disappointing.

What do you think of the team?s recent qualifying sessions?

We know this is an area where we need to improve. Everyone works hard to get the best out of the car on a lap. Our pace in the race compared to that in qualifying is much better when compared to the others. It?s a little frustrating because it?s then difficult to achieve the result you expect.

What are your expectations for the Belgian Grand Prix?

I hope we will be competitive. Last year I finished eighth but later received a penalty for overtaking under a yellow flag. I accepted the sanction even though I didn?t feel like I had done anything wrong. This weekend I will fight to erase this disappointment by trying to register my first in F1 in Spa.
