Replaced by Alex Dunne during Free Practice 1 as part of the sessions reserved for rookies in each team, Lando Norris didn't take long to get his bearings in Spielberg this Friday. Back in his McLaren, the British placed the car papaya topped the timesheet in Free Practice 2 this afternoon with a best lap of 1:04.580. He beat his teammate Oscar piastri of 0.157 as well as the Red Bull de Max Verstappen of 0.318.
Behind the leading trio, a surprising Lance stroll positioned himself in fourth place with his Aston Martin, 0.442 seconds ahead Charles Leclerc (Ferrari). The Monegasque had a real scare after a quarter of an hour on the track when he went off into the gravel in the second sector, without any serious injury. 10th, Lewis Hamilton has hindered Andrea Kimi Antonelli and could find himself under threat of a penalty on the starting grid of the Grand Prix.

Best time in Free Practice 1, George Russell (Mercedes) settled for sixth place this Friday afternoon, ahead of Yuki tsunoda (Red Bull) and an astonishing Gabriel Bortoletto (Sauber), 8th. Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) finished 9th.
On the French side, Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) finished 13th ahead of Pierre Gasly (Alpine). The Norman mentioned a problem with the flat bottom of his single-seater at the end of the session. Esteban Ocon (Haas) completed the group shot of the tricolors with 15th place.
