French GP: Fourneyron will think

The former government may have promised that the presidential elections would not influence the progress of the French Grand Prix file, François Hollande had indicated before the second round that he was going to re-examine the file. The new Minister of Sports Valérie Fourneyron, who succeeds David Douillet, will therefore be in charge of re-evaluating this project, focusing particularly on the questions of financing in the event of a budget deficit of the communities, on ecological problems or even on the location of the test.

“There was a singular acceleration on this issue at the end of the campaign”, she recalled at the RMC microphone when she was a guest on the Moscato Show. “There is no opposition to there being a Grand Prix in France. But we need to have transparency on this issue, on the financial opacity and on the lack of effort from the boss of the F1 (Bernie Ecclestone, who for his part seems to have already turned the page), or even on the environment. This is a file that deserves a lot of attention. We also need to know to what extent the State supports a possible deficit of this final plateau. In Castellet, there are significant accessibility problems. All of this deserves a little more than 10 minutes of attention. We are not guaranteed to see a Grand Prix in France next year but we are not opposed to it. »
