Mexican GP: mixed testing for Verstappen

Max Verstappen passed through different states during the first day of testing for the Mexican GP held on October 30 at the Hermanos Rodriguez circuit. The Toro Rosso driver set the best time in the first practice session, even if his turn should have been withdrawn since it was performed by cutting a turn.

“It was a new experience for all the drivers. The conditions were quite difficult, but we were able to tackle this first session well. commented the rookie. “It was nice to finish on top, but above all it means that the car works well and I feel good on this circuit. »

The Dutchman, however, was unable to take advantage of the second session after being made a mistake from the first minutes, after losing the rear of his STR10 in the last corner of the Mexican circuit. “I lost the rear of my car on my first flying lap and had an accident. This may be due to a combination of cold tires and a still wet track. I must have overestimated the grip level. It’s a bit of a shame there isn’t more room on this bend.”, added Max Verstappen.

The final practice session for the Mexican GP will be contested this Saturday, October 31 from 17 p.m. (French time) and will be followed live on Canal+ Décalé.
