Mexican GP: Vettel doesn't blame Ricciardo

Sebastian Vettel had a difficult weekend at the Mexican GP. Starting in third position, the driver of the Team slipped to the back of the peloton following a clash at the start with Daniel Ricciardo. The German made several mistakes during his comeback, spinning and finally abandoning after going off the track.

Despite this frustrating Grand Prix for the quadruple world champion, the latter remained impartial by judging that the contact of the driver Red Bull did not have to be sanctioned. “I saw the departure accident on TV. At first I was angry because the race was lost with this puncture, but now I think that it was a maneuver that did not deserve a penalty looking at the images”, said Sebastian Vettel.

The German nevertheless believes that Daniel Ricciardo was reckless at the start, but he does not hold it against him. “It’s hard to judge, I saw him at the last second and I steered to give him more space but it was too late because he was too fast for the line he wanted to take. We touched each other, but we cannot sanction a driver for that because no one does that voluntarily. I don't blame him but it's unfortunate for us.", added the former Red Bull driver.
