GP France: the anti-Flins are mobilizing

Alain Schmitz is convinced, the circuit project in Flins is in pole position to host the future French Grand Prix of Formula 1. The new president of the General Council of Yvelines, a few weeks ago, even received the support of the Prime Minister, François Fillon, who assured him that the government supported this project. But this week, environmental associations are returning to the charge.

Opposed to the construction of a circuit in Flins (Yvelines) to host a Formula 1 Grand Prix, these associations are demanding government intervention. Worried to see Flins’ file at the top of the predictions, Hélène Danel, president of the “Flins sans circuit F1” association, asks “ a government position putting an end to this circuit project ". The association is supported in its request by Greenpeace, WWF France, the Nicolas Hulot Foundation, the League for the Protection of Birds and the federation of agricultural operators' unions of Ile de France. The location which will see the construction of the circuit which will host the Formula 1 French Grand Prix in the years to come is therefore still far from being known.
