Lando Norris in Australia, Lewis Hamilton during the Sprint in China, Oscar piastri during the GP in Shanghai, Max Verstappen in Japan. In four qualifying sessions, the 2025 season of Formula 1 had four different polesitters. This statistic reflects the small gap between the teams and suggests another great show this Saturday. Around the Sakhir circuit, the twenty drivers on the grid will battle it out for pole position for the Bahrain Grand Prix.
This has allowed the fastest driver in qualifying to win in the last three editions. Charles Leclerc in 2022 and then Max Verstappen the following two years won the event in Bahrain, which then served as the inaugural round of the championship. The Monegasque is among the candidates to become the fifth poleman in as many qualifying rounds this season. Also watch out for the Mercedes of the very regular George Russell, even if the McLaren remain favorites after dominating the first two free sessions.
