French Grand Prix: The State passes the baton to the FFSA

After receiving the representatives of Paul Ricard and Magny-Cours, the Minister in charge of Sports hopes that the French Motor Sport Federation will take over in order to explore the two projects in progress.

Valérie Fourneyron particularly highlighted four points which posed problems on the French Grand Prix file:

  • The lack of agreement with the company Formula One Management on the amount of the grid fee.
  • The unconfirmed possibility of an annual alternation in the world championship calendar with another Grand Prix in Europe.
  • Lack of information on the costs of additional accommodations required for inclusion in the world championship calendar
  • Conditions for negotiating private partnerships.

Nicolas Deschaux and the FFSA were therefore invited to examine the technical, financial and legal conditions under which a French Grand Prix could be organized on the Magny-Cours or Paul Ricard circuit.
