  • This is nothing new, the English have always known how to dance in the rain. George Russell, Lewis Hamilton et Lando Norris indeed dominated the third free practice session of the British Grand Prix, to the delight of British spectators soaked from head to toe in the stands. The pilots Mercedes were, however, the most dominant throughout the session. The two men are only separated by 35/1000th, and are 185/1000th ahead of the McLaren by Norris. Everything remains very open for pole position!
  • Behind, we find the two Ferrari de Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, between which is interposed Max Verstappen. The Dutchman, despite his only 5th place, will remain one of the big favorites for pole given his performances the day before. The four top teams are at the forefront with their two drivers, until Sergio Pérez brings up the rear in 9th position, Fernando Alonso being the only intruder in 8th place. Note that the gaps should nevertheless be taken with a grain of salt, due to the timing and intensity of the rain at the time when the laps were completed.
  • Behind, as often over the last two years, Nico Hulkenberg was the best of the rest in 9th position, ahead of both Williams from Alex Albon and Logan sargeant. Esteban Ocon he is 16th.
  • At a contested start to the session on a wet track, before the rain returned in the second part of the session, Pierre Gasly was the main victim of the first rounds. The Frenchman has in fact lost the rear of his car on a braking end at the entrance to the penultimate corner of the circuit, just after entering the pit lane. The Habs ended up in the gravel, and remained trapped there with a premature end to the session. It's a pretty special weekend anyway for the Rouennais, who will start at the back of the grid due to a new engine and battery change.
  • Note that Max Verstappen, Valtteri Bottas and Lando Norris also had a little scare. The Dutchman, as usual, made a sun before returning perfectly to the direction of the track, as if nothing had happened. The Finn spun in the first sector in the slow part, but without damage, when Lando Norris took advantage of a tarmac escape route to avoid trouble after entering Maggots a little quickly.
  • See you at 16 p.m. (French time) for the qualification.
