Grosjean called Wolff to explain

Romain Grosjean admitted that he had called Toto wolff at the end of the British GP where the two men had a disagreement. The pilot Haas had expressed his irritation after being slowed down during qualifying by Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), the Frenchman taking tenth place on the grid. The executive president of Mercedes Motorsport responded by affirming that the former GP2 champion should be satisfied to be in F1.

“I heard his comments and I wasn't particularly happy to hear them, recognized Romain Grosjean. The good news is that I have his phone number. I called Toto, we spoke well and we explained ourselves. »

“There is tension because they are fighting for the world title. Some of my statements were probably misreported to Toto. I had nothing against Lewis or Mercedes, I was just saying that it cost me two positions on the grid. It's not the same to start 8th or 10th in F1 and we are all fighting with different objectives. »

Romain Grosjean clarified that the incident was closed, arguing that the comments had been made in the heat of the moment.
