Grosjean in the unknown for Monaco

After a somewhat hesitant start, Romain Grosjean found its feet at Lotus F1 Team. After a podium at the Bahrain Grand Prix and a fourth place in Barcelona, the Frenchman is preparing to return to the Rock to compete in his first Monaco Grand Prix. The GP2 champion distinguished himself in the lower discipline last year by reaching the podium in Race 2 while his compatriot Charles Pic took victory with the Barwa Addax Team. If the latter will have a hard time achieving such a feat this year, the Lotus driver can hope to play at the forefront in a particularly unpredictable season.

Nevertheless, Romain Grosjean keeps his feet on the ground and is wary of the particular conditions of this legendary urban circuit. “We will discover the level of competitiveness of the E20 on this particular circuit”, comments Kimi Räikkönen’s teammate. “I think Monaco is a circuit in its own right where it is very difficult to say whether we will perform well there. It's bumpy on the straights and the surface offers really little grip. All of these things mean we can never know what to expect. On a normal circuit, you know more what to expect. I hope we will have a pleasant surprise and that this car will be effective in the face of the Monegasque challenge. »
