Grosjean discovers his 2012 car

Romain, you spent time with the engineers today at enstone. What was your preparation program with the team?

First, I had the chance to sit in a mock-up of the 2012 chassis. It's always special to sit in a new car for the first time, very exciting and very cool! We also talked about the programs for the new year with the new rules, new tires and how the Grand Prix weekends will unfold. It?s always a pleasure to come to Enstone. I like walking around the factory, chatting with the different departments and getting to know everyone a little better. I have been part of the team since last year and I know the engineers and mechanics well, but a driver never stops learning.

Have you already created good relationships with the engineers as a result of your work with the team last year?

Having worked with the team last year was a very good thing because it gave me a better understanding of people. It?s very important to spend time with the team in pre-season because we will spend 20 race weekends together, in other words more than 100 days! It's best to start off on the right foot. In fact, I will probably be with the guys more often than with my fiancée this year?

There will be three French drivers on the grid this year and that is excellent news for the fans. Have you noticed a difference in support from your countrymen recently?

Absolutely. The French have been waiting for a pilot for a long time Formula 1 and there are three of us. Grand Prix is a French expression and our country is closely linked to the history of this sport. I hope we can help its development again in France.
