Grosjean and Lotus did not seek to sign a time

During the first session, Lotus tried to condense the testing program of the two sessions into one to counter the arrival of rain, which ultimately did not disrupt the running of the two E20s. From the first relays, Grosjean complained about a car a little too forward, but after a few modifications, the Frenchman felt better in his seat.

14th, more than a second behind Lewis Hamilton during the second free practice session, Grosjean did not seek performance in Montreal, as proof, he only put on one set of tires this Friday afternoon.

« It was my first time on the Gilles Villeneuve circuit and I really enjoyed the experience. It is not an easy circuit and the weather did not match what is forecast for the rest of the weekend, explains Romain Grosjean. It?s a shame not to have been able to ride in warmer conditions. I spent a lot of time learning how the car reacts and trying different things in the setup. »

« We have gathered a lot of information, but obviously we will have to make a big effort again tomorrow if the temperatures are higher. The car feels good and we did a few laps on the super soft tires. Overall it was a useful day. »
