Grosjean frustrated, Maldonado stopped

A few moments before the fire started on the car de Lewis Hamilton, the Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado was forced to stop on the track, victim of a mechanical problem. “Everything was going well on the car, until the second I entered the last corner. It’s very disappointing because we thought we would be able to get to Q3 today,” explains the former pilot Williams.

From his side Romain Grosjean, overwhelmed with problems with the cooling system since Friday, was spared by the mechanics, but points out the flagrant lack of performance of the E22. “We were not able to do well in Q2 to try to move into Q3, explains the Frenchman. We had a good third free practice session this morning and I thought we might reach Q3 this afternoon, but that wasn't the case. The car didn't behave as well in qualifying as earlier today, which we need to analyze. If we can have the feeling like in free practice, there will be more potential from tomorrow's race. We learned a lot this weekend, even if we weren't able to translate that into a good qualifying position. For tomorrow, we will do our best, especially as there could be rain which could help us get into the points. »

The Lotus E22s will try to move up the hierarchy tomorrow in the race from 14 p.m., to follow live on AUTOhebdo.fr.
