Grosjean: Haas 'more comfortable in the top league'

If the Haas VF18 had good potential at the start of the year, the American team lost good results by making technical errors, notably missing several pit stops.

For 2019, Romain Grosjean believes that Haas F1 Team has learned from its mistakes and that it will be able to be more reactive when the tension increases a notch.

“The driving sensations were good in Barcelona. We'll have to see what it does on different circuits. I've always ridden well here. The team gained more experience last year. We didn't have time to prepare properly. We can now be more comfortable in the top league”, declared the Frenchman.

If Haas is still aiming for 4th place in the Constructors' Championship, Romain Grosjean admits that the team's potential against the competition will be difficult to establish during the first months.

“The hierarchy is less obvious to establish than last year. We will certainly have to wait for the Spanish GP to get a real idea because the first meetings are atypical and this is the time when the teams make big changes. We are neither the fastest nor the slowest. We can take advantage of a possible bad start to the season for the top teams to take more points”, underlined the former GP2 Series champion.

Last year, Romain Grosjean started from 6th place on the Melbourne grid before retiring due to a loose wheel.
