Grosjean: “The worst possible Friday”

Friday practice for the Singapore Grand Prix was difficult for Romain Grosjean. The Frenchman was stuck in the pits in FP1 following a leak identified on his VF16. Repaired for the second session, the car returned to the garage after the former GP2 champion went off the track where the suspension was damaged.

Romain Grosjean was only able to complete a dozen laps after three hours of testing while the Marina Bay track is particularly selective. The French driver complained again of brake problems before making a mistake.

« This is the worst Friday possible. I didn't get a ride this morning and we had some issues this afternoon that we need to sort out, regretted Romain Grosjean. We didn't have any performances. It's a terrible way to start one of the toughest Grands Prix of the year. »

This day was all the more important for Haas with the developments made on the VF16. Esteban Gutiérrez finished the second session in 13th place, 2”5 behind the benchmark set by Nico Rosberg.
