Grosjean opens his 2019 tally with 10th place in Spain

After three retirements in four races and without any points scored in 2019, the shortage of Romain Grosjean ended this Sunday with the 10th place of the Haas driver F1 Team at the end of the Spanish Grand Prix.

A point obtained after a big fight at the end of the race after the intervention of the safety car, first with his teammate Kevin Magnussen, with contact between the two pilots, before Carlos Sainz (McLaren) and Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso) do not come to overtake the French.

A result which could therefore have been better from an accounting point of view but which already pleases the former Lotus F1 Team driver, while his car had been suffering from tire problems for several weeks.

“It’s a good weekend, I’m happy to score my first point, commented Grosjean on Canal +. We had good pace throughout the race and we were able to follow the big teams at the start.

I'm a little less happy with the end of the race, but we scored this first point. We deserved better today. »

Günther Steiner, Team Principal of Haas F1 Team, returned to the lively end of the race between his two drivers. “The weekend ended a little controversially, but we have resolved the problem with the drivers. This is the most important thing after their race. We may have lost a few points, but we are all happy to move forward, everything is fine. »
