Grosjean: Pérez didn’t leave me room

Romain Grosjean did its best to achieve a good result at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix where Lotus F1 Team scored its first victory with Kimi Räikkönen. After starting from tenth place, the 2011 GP2 Series champion clashed with Nico Rosberg, forcing him to pit on the first lap. The Frenchman took advantage of the first safety car released after the accident in Nico Rosberg and Narain Karthikeyan to return to the pits before starting a very good climb up to fifth place. The French driver was then caught on the 37th lap by Sergio Pérez and Paul di Resta, but the Mexican went wide before resuming the track. Romain Grosjean then hit the back of the Mexican's Sauber C31, the accident leaving the Lotus E20 on the floor before Mark Webber hit it.

If the Lotus driver once again found himself involved in a collision, this time the stewards held Sergio Pérez responsible for the accident. The French driver having nothing to reproach himself for, the disappointment is great with the victory of his teammate Kimi Räikkönen. “I'm very happy for Kimi because it's the victory we were waiting for and it's an incredible result for the whole team. But I'm also disappointed because I did well. It was a good fight between the three of us at turn 11 until Sergio (Pérez) went off the track at turn 13 and came back to the inside of turn 14 to give me space. to go somewhere else. Then Mark (Webber) came and we collided. It was a great day for the team but an unlucky race for me. »
