Grosjean reacts to his spin: Better to laugh about it

Obviously, he knew that we were going to question him about this funny image, this spin at the exit of the stands at the very start of Free Practice 1 of the British Grand Prix which did not fail to make laugh at the internets, always quick to mock.

Yet it is relaxed and with a smile that Romain Grosjean presented himself to journalists on Friday evening in the Silverstone paddock. So, how does he explain this spinning top that cost him a front wing? “ Cold, replied the Frenchman. As I removed the limiter at the pit lane exit, the car spun. It’s a bit of an embarrassing moment but hey that’s life. We laughed about it. I think you have to laugh about it. It didn't bother us too much for the rest of the day. ».

Driving a car returned to its configuration from the Australian GP, Grosjean did not panic the time this Friday – 19th in FP1 and 18th in the afternoon. Not to mention that he found himself stuck in his garage for a good half hour in FP2 due to a hydraulic leak. In the middle of this rain of glitches, the pilot Haas still tried to draw positive lessons.

« It was a pretty productive day in the end., he continued. We managed to do quite a few tests. We evaluated the old aerodynamic package, the one we had at the start of the season, compared to the current one that Kevin (Magnussen his teammate, Editor’s note) kept. We saw the positive and the negative.

It's a bit tough but we expected it when we handed over the Australian package to race number 10. All the other teams brought lots of developments. Afterwards, the car is pleasant to drive. I have very good feelings again. Afterwards, it’s also a car that doesn’t like the wind and there will be wind all weekend at Silverstone. ».

If even the weather doesn't help...
