Grosjean recalls “one of the best overtakes” of his life in Hungary

The French driver is keen to return to the Hungaroring, a circuit he knows well and which has often been favorable to him in recent years.

« I have always had good feelings in Hungary, comments Grosjean. I always loved the track. It was very bumpy before but they resurfaced the track last year. It's a slow circuit. The behavior of the car is important. I'm lucky to have cars that have performed pretty well over the years.

“I established my first GP2 pole position there in 2008. I had some good races in GP2 on this circuit. I also qualified on the front row at the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2012. »

By the nature of the circuit with few major braking points, it is difficult to overtake on this track but, at the same time, it does not put a strain on the brakes, which should give the driver more confidence. Haas.

« It's very difficult to overtake at the Hungaroring. Honestly, I made one of the best overtakes of my life there in 2013, outside T4 on Felipe Massa. I had a drive-through for that one because I had all 4 wheels out. It didn't really matter to me since it's one of the nicest overtakes I've ever done and because it's in a place where no one expects you to overtake. »

Romain Grosjean's best result at the Hungarian Grand Prix in F1 dates back to 2012 with a third place.
