Haas may not be world champion at the end of the 2019 season Formula 1More she is in pole position to reveal her car and its schedule for the winter tests in Barcelona (Spain, February 18-21 and February 26-March 1).

The VF-19 will first be piloted by Romain Grosjean Monday February 18, before his teammate Kevin Magnussen doesn't take over the next day. The Frenchman will have to share his wheel with test driver Pietro Fittipaldi, who will experience his first winter tests with Haas.

“I think the very first rounds are crucial, explains Romain Grosjean. This is where you have the first sensations. You know if the base is good, or if there will be work to do. I have already discovered quite a few cars, some good, some bad. »

Regarding the Haas team, “Reliability is improving every year, so (the) hope this will still be the case in 2019. If the reliability is there, the kilometers will be accumulated, this will be important in view of the first race in Australia. »

Haas Team Principal Günther Steiner explains the promotion of Pietro Fittipaldi. “It’s a vital part of our simulator work. We are constantly trying to improve this area. We have to put it in the car in order to validate whether the simulator program is adequate or not."
